MidTown Peak Grant


Grant funding now available for MidTown property owners to make investments in their property with the intent of improving conditions and increasing property values. Projects can apply for funding up to $50,000. If you have a larger project in mind, contact Tommy.Crosby@DurangoGov.org.

MidTown is Durango’s first Urban Renewal Area.  MidTown holds many important and underutilized assets that contribute to Durango’s quality of life.  This area contains many properties ripe for redevelopment, including publicly-owned and historically significant properties. MidTown is within a federally-designated Opportunity Zone, and prioritizes the following types of development:

  • Housing
  • Mixed-Use
  • Historic Preservation
  • Adaptive Reuse
  • Transit-Oriented Development
  • Infrastructure Improvements
  • Arts & Culture

City Council adopted the MidTown Urban Renewal Plan at their regular meeting on March 16, 2021. The plan lays out the vision and development priorities for MidTown, and authorizes Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for twenty-five years.
