The City of Durango encourages residents, businesses, government agencies and schools to responsibly recycle their electronic products.The City of Durango contracts with a certified electronics recycler who is E-Steward Certified as well as IS14001 Certified.
The City collects electronics
Every Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm
at the Durango Recycle Center,

Up to six large items will be accepted from businesses and residents on Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm (small items can be recycled alongside the six large items.) Businesses with more than six large items should call (970) 375-5004 to schedule a Friday appointment. A completed inventory with the number of each item must accompany the electronics drop-off.

Cathode ray tubes (CRTs) and circuit boards found in televisions and computers contain significant amounts of lead, chromium, silver, and many other toxic materials. Recycling electronics keeps hazardous materials out of our area landfills!
The Electronic Recycling Jobs Act prohibits Colorado Residents from discarding most electronic waste items in their household trash. This law went into effect July 1, 2013. You are the key to a cleaner Durango, so please properly recycle your electronics every Saturday at the Durango Recycle Center. All types of computer components and televisions are accepted from residents, businesses, governments, and schools. Businesses, governments, and schools are required by state law to safely dispose of hazardous wastes. Cell phones are also accepted for recycling year-round at locations throughout the community.
