Tree City USA is an Arbor Day Foundation program that has been greening up cities and towns across America since 1976. It is a nationwide movement that provides the framework necessary for communities to manage and expand their public trees. The City of Durango is among more than 3,400 communities that have made the commitment to being a Tree City USA.
Parks & Recreation Forestry Division maintains 11,328 trees in Durango and continues to plant adaptable trees to grow a diverse, healthy and sustainable urban forest.
