Take a few minutes to check for leak. In the long run it will save you money 

Toilet leaks are hard to find. They are normally caused by: 

  • Bad flapper valve 
  • Flapper valve seat 
  • Bad ball cock valve 
  • Improperly positioned float arm 
  • Defective overflow tube. 

How to check if your toilet is leaking:

  • Drop a dye tablet or food coloring into the tank 
  • Do Not Flush! 
  • Water 15-20 minutes 

If color appears you have a leak. 

  • Repair leaky faucets and showerheads. 
    • Replace washers 
    • Is it hot water 

Problems with plumbing fixtures may be due to old age, corrosion or wear and tear. Replacement or repair parts can be purchase at a local hardware or plumbing supply store or call a local plumber.
