Badging Qualifications
All persons seeking unescorted access must be badged by the Durango - La Plata County Airport.
To qualify for an Airport Security Badge (SIDA, AOA (General Aviation), and Concessionaire), you must:
- Be employed with an entity operating on Durango-La Plata County Airport grounds.
- Have an aircraft based on the DRO airfield or own/lease/sublease hangar space.
- Be an employee of a Federal, State or Local Agency operating at the Durango-La Plata County Airport.
Badging FAQ
Two forms of current government-issued IDs are required, from the list of approved documents for I-9 verification.
Background checks usually take 5 to 14 business days.
Training is required for all badge holders. Some driver training may be included.
Durango Airport SIDA Badges are valid for 2 years from issue. Durango Airport Sterile Access, AOA and Restricted Area Access Badges are valid for 1 year from issue.
Badges may be renewed up to 30 days before the expiration date.
